@HPM619 Once you pay off the mortgage, you are no longer obligated to have insurance. Property tax will always cost significantly less than renting for a whole year. And obviously, you earn equity when you decide to sell your house. Try doing that while renting an apartment. People that say things like your comment are just finding a way to cope and justify renting. But that's OK. People who own their homes know or paying mortgage know that they are sitting on more equity and more security than those who rent.

If you say the prices are still going to go down, investors would be selling their properties right now to avoid being further under the water....but guess what, they are not. 🤷‍♂️
