If only the poor pensioners had gone to Eton and Oxbridge, worked as a hedge fund manager or trader in the City, used their bonuses to invest in property, and stashed their inheritance and surplus cash in offshore tax havens like the Conservatives they always vote for, they wouldn’t need the £300 winter fuel allowance and bleat about the worst state pension in Europe.
