Comments by "Matt Foley" (@mattfoley6082) on "Teen Pepper-Sprayed by Police Shares Her Story" video.
Very cleverly written statement by her lawyer. "I proceeded to ride down the hill with caution." Yes, I'm sure those are her own words. It's truthful while leaving out key details that make her look bad. It may contain some truth but not the whole truth and certainly not any truth that implicates her. This is not about taking responsibility for her actions (like paying for the damage she made to the man's car), this is a ploy to get a settlement check from the city. Watch the video and you'll see and hear what really happened. Guess she forgot some key details like: she ran the light and hit the car and damaged it, then tried to leave the scene when cops tried to question her, then cursed them and fought them and refused to put her legs in the car. We've all seen police brutality videos but this wasn't that. This girl is trouble. I hope she gets her act together before she gets much older.

She ran the light because she was late for church. Yeah, that's it.

And we know she didn't write it because there isn't a "fuck" in every sentence.

Oh Monica. They told her why they were detaining her because she refused to answer questions (parents' names and phone number) and tried to leave. They pepper sprayed her because she refused to put her legs in the car. She told cop she didn't want to tell her mom, she wanted to tell her dad so the cop offered to bring her to her dad so they could both tell him. Her response? "Oh my god, get outta my fucking face you stupid bitch." It's all on video, no need to take my word.

Too scared to answer cop questions like "what's your name and address and parents' phone?" after she hit the guy's car with her bike? Oh I think we know the truth: she refused medical treatment and questions because she didn't want her parents to find out. Like the one bystander warned her in the video, "you're just making things worse." She sure did make them worse.

What about the rights of the man whose car she damaged?

Let me help you out of your confusion. I was hit by a car on my bike (vs. this girl hit the car). I broke no laws but the driver who hit me was cited (came into my lane and hit me head on). I was injured. I was the innocent victim because I'd done nothing wrong. Since driver was at fault she paid for all damages. Then I sued her for additional pain and suffering. Innocent victims are the ones who should sue. This girl ran a light and hurt her head because she wasn't wearing a helmet as required by MD law. She is the one who caused all the trouble. Yet she is playing the victim. See the difference?

How do you know she had weed?

The "big hill" she's describing is Randolph Ave. According to Google Maps it drops 26 feet in one block, or only about 3%, not steep at all. Also, the intersection of the accident (Randolph and N. Locust) has buildings that block line of sight to the left and right so you can't see if cars are coming. All the more reason not to run red light. She gambled. She lost. Did I mention she violated Maryland law requiring bicycle helmet? And now she wants somebody else to pay for her mistake. This is a travesty.

Monica Gandhi Ignore these racist jerks in the comments. Let's stick to what's in the video. Notice it was the girl who kept asking for a black cop.

Mike Miller, you do acknowledge that she was not complying with their commands, right? You saw what happened when they tried to move her, right? Screaming and fighting them all the way. Maybe they could've used physical force to pull her into the car but we already saw how that went. She just would've screamed and fought them. She had no intention of complying and we all know it.

Ken, your first sentence is simply not true and your remaining sentences are just stupid.

It's not just about her and her injuries. Even if she was unhurt she hit the car and damaged it and therefore had to held responsible. That's why the cops wanted to ask her questions. It's not her right to flee the scene of an accident and definitely not after she damaged the guy's car.

Who wants to buy dashcam footage of this accident? Best offer over $50k.

What a lying little...oh wait, she's not lying, her head trauma caused her to forget every detail that could be used against her. Yeah, that's it!

Ken Martin, a bike is legally a vehicle same as a car. Responsibility falls on the one who caused the accident. If you run a red light you're at fault. The man was minding his own business and got hit. If she'd been in a car instead of a bike he might have been seriously injured or killed. Instead of being so selfish and immature she should be thankful she didn't make things worse, and she needs to show some remorse and regret for causing the accident. The real problem here isn't the cops, it's people like you who blame everyone but the one who caused the trouble.

She also said she hit her head and was unconscious. Ever hear of concussion? Very serious.

I'll give you three guesses.
