Watch the cop's badgecam video. It shows the gun in the kid's right hand literally half a second before he got shot. Cop was in fear for his life.

@normangabbard8816 Why do you think cop should've known he'd tossed the gun? Video shows the gun in his right hand literally ONE SECOND before he brought his hand forward. Take the L, son.

But he didn't drop the gun. Quite the opposite. He didn't want to be caught with the gun so he hid it behind his body and TOSSED it behind the fence thinking the cop would never see it.The cop DID NOT SEE HIM TOSS THE GUN and the video confirms the cop COULD NOT HAVE SEEN HIM TOSS IT. We only know he tossed it in hindsight after watching the video. The cop didn't have the benefit of multiple video angles. The cop reasonably thought the suspect was still holding the gun and had to act in self defense. But this does not suit the "cop ruthlessly shot an unarmed child" narrative.

@JB-kn2zh You clearly know nothing about how police are trained to shoot. They shoot to kill.
1
@JB-kn2zh The gun was in the suspect's hand ONE SECOND BEFORE so OF COURSE the cop thought it was still in his hand when he swung it toward him. There was zero time for the cop to hesitate to defend himself against a perceived deadly weapon aimed at him. The key is that the cop perceived a threat and that is all that matters. In order to charge the cop with a crime you will have to prove the cop saw the kid throw the gun but shot him anyway. Good luck with that.

Factotum Yup, that's what I'd argue if I ignored what the cop saw and reasonably believed at the time.
1
Factotum Of course you have to twist my words. You have nothing.

Factotum It is only in hindsight from the comfort and safety of your living room that you can say the cop was not in danger. The gun was in the suspect's hand ONE SECOND BEFORE so OF COURSE the cop thought it was still in his hand when he swung it toward him. Factotum Everything you say is true. Unfortunately for you it is not the whole truth. You keep leaving out the most important part: the cop thought he was holding the gun. As I and others have explained many times, the cop (and any reasonable person, which excludes you) in that situation has no choice but to think that the gun in his hand ONE SECOND prior is still in his hand ONE SECOND later. The cop could not have known the suspect tossed the gun. Your sneaky little angel thought he was being clever by holding it behind him and tossing it. Do you have to work hard to be this dense or does it come naturally?

@Hidinginthetreeline Sorry, I don't respond to unsourced hearsay. Feel free to paste link to this "cop lied on his report" claim.
