@ncfsoldierboy The mechanism/method is less important than the effect. The point is that Chauvin was depriving Floyd of air.
2
@lindseystein9676 Badgecam shows a) Chauvin's knee on neck, b) Floyd repeatedly saying knee is on his neck, c) bystanders saying knee is on neck. Defense can play all the games it wants and this won't change.
2
@kerryrivers9869 After seeing defense focus on a few seconds of video I watched the WHOLE badgecam video to see and hear for myself. It's very disturbing.
2
@smittyjohnson5279 That may be so but it doesn't change what I wrote.
2
Exactly! Defense wants us to believe Floyd died from drugs and Chauvin's knee just happened to be there by coincidence. No jury will fall for this. Chauvin will get AT LEAST a guilty verdict on the manslaughter charge.
2
@nedbass1 These Chauvin bootlickers think Floyd's poor life choices makes Chauvin innocent. Boy, are they in for a surprise.
2
No surprise most of these Chauvin bootlickers also worship Trump. The cult mindset is virtually immune to facts and reason.
2
@seanjenkins331 What don't you understand about the comment? Plain as day.
2
I don't like it either but that is his job: to defend his client zealously and let the jury decide. I think the evidence against Chauvin is overwhelmingly against him and the jury will see this. He might escape from Murder 2 and Murder 3 but no way he escapes manslaughter.
2
Which absorbs MAGA tears better: Trumpy Bear or My Pillow?
2
@notlikely4468 We already know Floyd was on drugs from the autopsy. So whether or not Floyd says so proves nothing.
2
Dear MAGAs, "If Floyd hadn't resisted" "If Floyd hadn't done drugs" "If Floyd hadn't passed a counterfeit 20" are not defenses for murder. You're welcome.
2
I agree. Defense is trying to use a few seconds of video to distract from the other 9 minutes of Chauvin's knee on his neck. Also--and this is key--prosecution needs to point out that the video shows the knee off the neck AFTER Floyd was dead.
2
@lindawhitney6134 I just watched the raw badgecam video again. Closely. I noticed: Chauvin's knee is clearly on Floyd's neck. Floyd repeatedly says he can't breathe. Floyd says a knee is in his neck. Twice. Floyd says his face is gone and his face is torn up bad and look at my face. (Obviously from knee on his neck!) Floyd says tell his kids he loves them. Floyd says I'm dead. Twice. Floyd says My neck...I'm through. Floyd says my neck hurts. Bystander says cop's knee is on Floyd's neck. Floyd goes silent but keeps moving then slowly stops moving. Cops say "he's breathing" then within seconds video shows Floyd stop breathing. Cops continue to pin Floyd. Bystanders tell them to check for pulse. Cop checks for pulse and says he couldn't find one. Cops kept Floyd pinned for about 3 minutes after he stopped breathing and after finding no pulse. Bystander said Chauvin's knee was on Floyd's neck. To review, we have video, we have witnesses, and we have Floyd himself saying the knee was on his neck. Of course the defense will try to cast doubt. But the video and audio doesn't lie.
2
Nader Hamdan Totally agree. No way Chauvin skates.
2
Actually, murder isn't murder. There are degrees of murder and there is manslaughter. It matters.
2
@r.j.8736 Any reasonable person knows that holding your knee on the neck for 9 minutes is NOT de-escalation.
2
@titaniumaIIoy When I prove he did say it how much will you pay me?
2
@lookingforwyatteearp3137 He also said the knee was on his neck. Eyewitnesses said knee was on his neck. Video shows knee on his neck. We good?
2
"Instead of narcan studies how shown that a knee on neck for 9 minutes has been shown to increase oxygen intake during a drug overdose. In my opinion the defendant was using all his training and knowledge to save Mr. Floyd's life." --defense witness
2
Yes, I would agree that for a few seconds OUT OF NINE MINUTES Chauvin's knee appears to be on the shoulder blade and not the neck.
2
Why glorify a drug addict when you can glorify a murderer? Way to dunk on yourself, Nate.
2
@smittyjohnson5279 You poor thing.
2
@Dr.Dre3000 Yes, I watch clips, not the whole trial. I also watched the whole bodycam video. Several times. Even took notes. Amazing the details I noticed that the defense hasn't mentioned.
2
We know drugs were in his system, therefore Floyd could say he swallowed 100 pills and it wouldn't change a thing.
1
@Mark How do Chauvin's boots taste?
1
Unfortunately that's his job. By law he must zealously defend his client. I hope the jury sees that defense's doubts do not meet the requirement of reasonable.
1
Because many of these Chauvin bootlickers are also Trump supporters, and we know many Trump supporters are full of hate toward blacks, esp. those on drugs. But they will be the first to remind you that they for LAW AND ORDER and they are PRO LIFE, meaning anti-abortion.
1
@StewartJones-v7h Never heard of him. Must be a different case you're watching.
1
@markking6117 I agree; Chauvin definitely contributed to his death. The only question is how much and his state of mind/amount of disregard. I am confident he'll get 3rd degree at minimum.
1
@smittyjohnson5279 No pre-conceptions here, son. Just the evidence. Speaks for itself.
1
@sdrfz Which proves nothing.
1
@sdrfz It's possible he wasn't.
1
@sdrfz Burden of proof is on defense. Speculation means nothing.
1
@sdrfz No, the burden of proof for the claim that Floyd is swallowing Fentanyl in the video is on the one making the claim.
1
@Mark And yet Chauvin is on trial for murder. Boohoo.
1
Nope, he'll get 3rd degree at minimum. No doubt in my mind.
1
"Not many people know this but pressing your knee into someone's neck actually helps them breathe better. It's a technique often used by emergency room doctors to revive patients." --defense witness for Chauvin
1
David T I agree. We already know Floyd had drugs in his system. Who cares if he says he ate them? He also said a few dozen times that he couldn't breathe, he said the knee on his neck hurt, he said his face on the ground hurt. Chauvin bootlickers cherrypicking like crazy.
1
@quigglyz 1. Agree. 2. Agree. 3. Nope. Drugs didn't kill him; lack of air did.
1
@BlackTownie999 Chauvin weighed 170 lbs. with his gear. That's 85 pounds on Floyd's neck. Floyd's face was pressed into the ground. You know your boy Derek is going to prison, right?
1
@BlackTownie999 What's 170 divided by 2?
1
@BlackTownie999 What's 170 divided by 2?
1
@Nathantodd2012 Video and Floyd and bystander all say knee was on neck for more than 10 seconds. Watch the whole bodycam video, not the cherrypicked parts from the defense. Were you about to say the bodycam video doesn't show the knee the whole time? That's true, but there's no evidence Chauvin moved his knee off the neck until 9 minutes later. And Floyd himself says the knee is on his neck.
1
@Nathantodd2012 I agree that the defense asks questions in a hypothetical sense, e.g., "In situations like this is it possible that...?" to which the answer is often "yes". Defense talks in general terms in order to avoid talking in specific terms about THIS PARTICULAR incident. Very clever but I'm not falling for this trick. The fact remains that Floyd was cuffed, there were 3 armed cops there, and the force used was excessive and unjustified.
1
"Instead of narcan studies how shown that a knee on neck for 9 minutes has been shown to increase oxygen intake during a drug overdose. In my opinion the defendant was using all his training and knowledge to save the defendant's life." --defense witness
1
@tortol4847 The officers knew he wasn't a threat when they cuffed him. Dismissed.
1
You really think anyone buys this b.s. of yours? No source, no links. Sad.
1
@markiased6848 But it is unreasonable to use a few seconds of video to doubt the other 9 minutes of knee on neck.
