Funny, I would never have thought Harbor freight had anything decent. They seemed to have done their homework and hit all the selling points right on the money.

Tool finder mode is your 5G network working hard for you.
1
Have you tested car floor jacks (2 1/2 ton)?

Not too many years ago, Makita was the tool of choice. Their quality has slipped in recent years and it seems Milwaukee is now the tool of choice.

You are having way too much fun!!

I can remember back in the 1970's people would go to start their cars and nothing would happen. Open the hood to check on thinfs and the battery would be gone. Battery lead scrap prices were so high because of shortage of lead, that battery theivery was common.

Too funny. When my daughter was in grade school, her science teacher had a task for the students to produce a scientific experiment. So, we got the clothesbars out, clothes pinned different sheets of paper towels to it. We then added the same measured amount of water to each towel. Then we added sheet metal screws, one at a time, in the towel until it broke. Bounty paper towels won. Btw, there were no such thing as "shop towels" then.

$544 for a drill is way out of line especially considering how it performed in the tests. Typical German product, overpriced and over engineered.

I have an older corded Craftsman heat gun. It's performed flawlessly over the years and really cranks out the heat.

You want to be careful talking to Cousin Eddie too much. He's not much of a conversationalist.

To be fair, vinegar is the least harmful to the environment but it is a slow reaction. I've used it to clean old tools with good results. I put it in a glass baking dish and let it go for at least 2 or 3 days. It's not for someone who wants instantaneous results.

Frying pans with chemical coatings made in communist China... what could possibly go wrong? 😜😝😆😂
1
Until December 21 when winter restarts! ❄🌨⛄😫😨😂
1
Thanks for being my headache reliever. I get a headache sometimes from all the choices that we as consumers have in this country!😂
1
Congratulations on your victory! Here's your participation trophy!! 🏆😂
1
How about files? Did you already do a video on files??
1
Chemicals: One of the few things made in USA and not communist China! We make the best chemicals!! 🔬🛢
1
I inherited a bunch of rachets from my dad which include Snapon, and other cheaper ones but I always find myself reaching for the old Craftsman made in USA rachet!

It's all in the marketing. It claimed to be 50% more powerful but it didn't say 50% more powerful than what. It certainly wasn't either of the other two batteries featured in the video. I'd call that false advertising. Definitely not worth the price.
1
Great video as always but...to me, these are all gimmicks. I used to use a file, then as I got older a bench grinder. Now, I use my angle grinder which is easier and is less work than the bench grinder. I use a file on the backside to take the burrs off. As far as balancing, holding the blade up with a nail in the fastening hole works just as well as those expensive gimmicky tools.

Why would you buy anything but a Stihl? Those Germans really know how to build machines!
1
It's amazing that Harbor Freight actually sells some pretty good tools.
1
I hate these videos. They cost me money as I feel like I want to run out and buy the tool or set even though I don't need them.
1
"Honey I'm going to borrow your mower." "Ok." Gets it back. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY MOWER!?!?" 😂😂
1
I feel sorry for anyone that buys one of these el cheapo battery starters because of a dead battery and then the battery starter fails to start the vehicle. 😥

Fix up an old pickup? Well, as long as the body and frame are descent, hell yeah, new pickups are $70,000 average priced. That's a new engine, new transmission, new radiator, new brakes, new rear bearings and more money left over than you can stuff in your pocket!
1
I used to use Pennzoil. But, I noticed when rebuilding engines that it left a crusty residue inside heads, valve covers and combustion chambers. So, I changed over to Castrol. Castrol doesn't lose it's viscosity between oil changes and keeps the inside of engines clean.

My daughter in Florida had a Toyota Camry with 325,000 miles and it ran great. She traded it in because of nickel and dime repairs. Funny thing is one of the mechanics at the dealership bought it and is still driving it!
1
All the communist China made bolt cutters look like they were made in the same factory just with different hand grips!😅🇨🇳
1
What about SnapOn?
1
I like how you test off brands as well as name brands because you know people will wonder if you didn't.
1
Blaster corporation, makers of PB Blaster, now has a protectant called Surface Shield. I know a lot of old timers that used ATF as rust preventer. Rustoleum Rust Reformer works well as a rust preventer. Mustie uses bar and chain oil. I think you have enough to do a second video.
1
Try Mineral Oil too!
1
The sawzall test was counterintuitive. The larger the battery, the more time it actually takes to saw through.
1
How do you get stuff like that out of that fused plastic bubble packaging? I almost slit my arm (literally) trying to open Milwaukee batteries that were hermetically sealed. WHY??? It's so unnecessary and wasteful!
1
Congratulations on your victory! Here's your participation trophy!! 🏆😂
1
At first, I thought, oh man, he's run out of tools to test. Then I realized that it is in response to viewers requests! 😂
1
Didn't you do this before?
1
Electric garden tillers?
1
Scooby Doo: "Wrut wrow Raggy, Rodd ris roing ranother rideo review." 😂
1
I've been watching your videos for a long time now and it seems that Irwin and DeWalt tools always come out on top!

My mother had a non stick frying pan. One day I commented that the teflon coating was all but gone and ask my mother if she realized that we had been ingesting all that chemical coating over the years. She said probably so and that was it. Now I use stainless and cast iron exclusively in the kitchen. Only spatulas are plastic.

Very interesting, especially the cold weather test.
1
That's because right now Milwaukee makes the best tools in the market. A few years from now, that may change. But you get what you pay for.
1
Ah, America, land of chemicals. We do make the best chemicals in the world. Must be all those German scientists we imported after WWII.
1
The true test is how long will they last. That's for another video.
1
Made in China vs made in Japan, who will win? Was there any doubt??
1
Am I the only one missing out by not using the hex key feature on the end of the adjustment knob?
1
Supposed to do this in January! 😂

I have a 2740-20 Milwaukee hammer drill/driver that the gearbox assembly broke in half. To be fair, I had been putting it through it's paces. What happened was when it got stuck drilling, it twisted eventually providing enough torque to break the assembly. Luckily, it's under warranty and will be repaired for free. In the meantime, I needed a drill, so I bought a new Milwaukee drill driver 2840-20. Interestingly enough when it gets stuck drilling, instead of twisting, a clutch assembly disengages the gearbox assembly. The drill just stops working until the torque is stopped. Also, the side handle was redesigned to fit around the body of the drill rayher than a fit sytem which proved to be crap. The work light was also in a relocated position on the drill body. Not sure why because I didn't have any issues with it being in the old location. But, what all this shows me is that Milwaukee tools have a commitment to fixing known issues and improving the quality of their tools. I will keep buying them until that commitment changes.
