I had a Milwaukee drill that the gear assembly just snap in two and fell apart. Long story short, Milwaukee repaired the drill, laughingly putting in as many new parts as a new drill itself cost but they improved the design.1. They made the gearbox assembly with a break away cltch. So, instead of working until it breaks, the gearbox just stops working at a preset high torque. 2. The extended handle kept slipping off. The new case and handle design wraps around the drill body further in order to grip better. 3. They changed the location of the built in work light on the drill. Not sure why, the old location wasn't a problem for me but evidently Milwaukee thought it needed improvement. So, this is why Milwaukee leads the industry right now, quality of product, innovation and improvement. I have no illusions that this may change down the road but for now Milwaukee is the leader!!
