I used to use Pennzoil brand. But upon rebuilding my engine I noticed that it left a crust in the heads of the engine. Working at an RV dealership, we had one of those traveling salesmen hawking his brand of oil. I can't remember the name but he had a chart with different name brands of oil and his with a breakdown of oil viscosity test, lubrication test, etc. Of course his finished first and we were skeptical of the results and didn't buy any. But, I did notice that Castrol motor oil came in a close second on every test. I've been using Castrol ever since with no problems and after engine disassembly there's no residue left behind. After 3,000 miles Castrol comes out almost the same as when it went in.

Back in the day I decided to buy cheap oil for my car instead of Pennzoil. After, 3,000 miles the cheap motor oil came out like chocolate milk. I never cheaped out on motor oil again.
