  1. It was taken over by the English after the Dutch lost a war back in the mid 1660's. It was a territorial concession. The English then renamed it after The Duke of York. Not many people know this part of history.

  2. There's a tunnel now closed off going between the State Education building and the State Capital building in Albany, NY.
