We effectively ARE independent, but the oil market is private, and the oil companies ship oil off shore to get a higher price! It has nothing to do with pipelines from Canada (that's a "pipe dream)! As far as electric vehicles, GM has committed to "all electric" by 2035!! And the electric Ford 150 pick up is such a hit they can't fill orders!! It's not policy!! But like all superior technology, there will be transition pains! We definitely need immigration reform, but neither party can agree on terms, so the problem goes on!! Personally, I don't mind immigrants, because I believe it has been the fault of US policy toward Latin America that has caused the collapse of those countries!! As far as drugs coming across the border, that has been going on for decades!! It's not a Biden problem!! I agree with you that we have a lot of problems! But for me, the biggest problem is Trumpism and it's continued efforts to undermine confidence in our democracy!! Just look at Arizona!! Kari Lake is still calling the election "rigged"! Just like Trump!!
