@Steve-ps6nq There's NO labor shortage, there's a WAGE shortage!! PAY them more if you want them to work! People are sick and tired of having to work three jobs to make ends meet!

@Steve-ps6nq I don't even know what you're talking about!! And $8.50/hour is a starvation wage!! I wouldn't work for you for that wage, why should anyone else! This has nothing to do with unions, just a greedy employer who's obviously not making ends meet!!

@r.n.6515 I have no idea where you get your ideas! Starbucks is a Fortune 500 company with annual revenue of $32 Billion (2022)!! The fact that baristas occupy the ground floor does not mean that they have to stay there! Many would like to become managers, district managers, directors, etc..! The notion that these employees are all "kids" with ruined work ethics is very sad but very pervasive! I'm sure you believe all that revenue should be distributed to the shareholders, who effectively (let's be honest) do NOTHING! Let's see if we can figure ways to exploit workers even more, because after all, they're all spoiled brats!!! It's YOUR ideas that explain why we have a labor shortage!!

Howard Schultz is a greedy billionaire who chooses to waste his time fighting unions instead of enjoying his massive wealth, and sharing a tiny bit of it with his employees!!

@ryateo1 Wrong!! Unions are the only legal way to thwart the power of employers, and guarantee that they have fair wages and decent working conditions! If your shop is so great then you have nothing to fear from a union!!

@ryateo1 There are plenty of highly skilled union job that have nothing to do with baristas! Most of the auto industry are unionized, as are the airlines, and many tech companies! So, stop trying to separate unions from making good money!!!

@jodihouts6032 It all about balance of power! If the union holds too much power, then you're correct, they serve themselves and not their members! But in the vast majority of cases (in this country) management holds the power, and they abuse it!!
