  1. Never Dry Fire a percussion firearm, it can damage and even break the nipples. That may even be the cause of the failure to fire with the Derringer, you can see on the slowmo that the left nipple is protected by a cap, but the right nipple is directly impacted by the hammer in the demonstration.
