In Australia low in come workers have much the same hourly rate as they did 20 years ago, except they work less hours and the price of everything from fuel to rent has doubled. House Prices have actually quadrupled.

To be frank though, I think doing more work in class instead of as homework can only be a good thing, especially for people with short attention span (like kids and teens).
