We usually call the central divider the Median, the divider, or the centre. Traffic islands tend to be the smaller ones at intersections meant to guide cars and give pedestrians a safe place to wait while crossing.

Its not the Ticket cost, its the Points in Australia. This isn't America where 90% of traffic offences are just a fine that can be litigated to a lower amount, here nearly every offence earns you points on your licence. 6 in a year or 12 in 3 years and you can kiss driving goodbye.

Cutting right early, with safe distance and indicating. I mean its an offence, but one that who cares? Drive 5 more minutes and there'll be 10-20 cars changing lanes without indicating you could book.

11:10 it wasn't the speed, it was passing where there are double white lines. Double Lines are a big deal and are placed where its unsafe to enter into the opposite lane of traffic. Its also illegal to park opposite them, do a U-Turn across them and more.

In Victoria its illegal to stay in the right lane at any speed, but when traffic completely fills every lane it tends to get ignored.

U-Turns are legal unless there is a sign saying they aren't for a specific intersection, though sometimes those signs aren't well placed. There was one at 07:20, with a dedicated U-Turn lane for the other direction being the intersection it was referring to. Another one at 10:40

TBF, backing up and not blocking the Tramline is probably the smart decision and the lesser offence. He never should have gone through when their was insufficient room in the first place. Its illegal to block an intersection, its illegal and dangerous to block a tram line in that way. However, he was already committed and the left lane was clear, the correct legal action was to proceed and find another place to turn.

The big ones are Shell, which has a deal going with Coles, Caltex which is linked to Woolworths and BP. Mobil exists but its becoming less common these days, used to be bigger, APCO is Australian Owned, Ampol is fairly large, and then there are several smaller companies.

Vans and SUVs have a tendency to speed to make up for their terrible acceleration. So the take 2 minutes to reach 60km/h, but then they'll go on to 65 or 70 till the next red light, where they are caught up by everyone they passed.

There is as big a rivalry between Nissan and Toyota fans for utes as between Ford and Holden fans. They are both top sellers.
