  1. US cars have both km and miles because they may be driven into Canada or Mexico where they use kms. But outside of the US the only countries in the world that use miles are Birma, Liberia and the UK.

  2. Tap Water. A combination of things no doubt. For one, we have a lot more trust in our water treatment facilities than the US does, probably for good reason and in our water quality in general, Heck, places like Hepburn Springs you can drink mineral water straight from the source. For another we don't have thousands of miles of lead pipes still in use (Hello NY). Plus Tap water is 2-4c a litre compared to bottled water which can get quite expensive. And tap water actually tastes nice in most places, although less so in Hard Water areas like Melbourne. Incidentally, over-filtered water can be bad for you because we cannot actually metabolise 100% pure water, you want it free of contaminants, but not pure H2O.

Actually 12.93 would be rounded up, 12.92 would be rounded down, unless you pay by card when its listed price, plus maybe a card charge, The 1 and 2c coins were cancelled in the 90s as no longer practical, and frankly the 5c is overdue for being removed. Vending machines and parking meters haven't accepted 5c coins for over a decade.

  4. No they don't always give a warning, some stations might, but supermarkets and Maccas will sometimes play 'songs' filled with the N word, as well as occasionally the S and F words. No apologies at all, and they'll do it in the middle of the day.
