  1. Condiments, depends on the shop. Most take-aways sauce is 10-20c, Gravy would be more. Some places give it free, especially restaurants. Of course iirc he is living on the Gold Coast, which is one of the most expensive tourist destinations in the country, they mark up everything there.

  2. I use Cruise Control 90-% of the time, and a lot of that is about not getting tickets. Cameras tend to not be at the bottom of hills, and they used to be well signposted, the main reason people hate them is 90% of drivers speed 90% of the time, which is why there are so many cameras. At least Avg. Speed cameras haven't had much traction yet though. The 2km allowance is way too harsh though, it used to be 3, and even that was pushing it. The idea is how accurate the cameras and radars are, but not how accurate your speedo is.

  3. In regional areas, the internet is terrible, and that's without corporate monopiles having no incentive to advance like in the US. And its mostly because the Liberals throttled the NBN, although even Labor's plan was half-assed, the Fibre to the Node idea was just bad.

  4. I'm pretty sure you can pre-pay for a set amount at the pumps at most fuel stations. Certainly at some of the bigger fuel stations you can. I've never bothered though, I just fill the tank to max and pay in the shop. Given the option I like to wash my hands with soap after fuelling up anyway,.

  5. There is about 49c of Tax per litre, plus GST of 10% on the final amount which is the real kicker, tax on a tax. But most of the cost is just the price of oil, although you will almost always pay more at a Shell or BP than at an APCO. because their greedy. Also, Diesel used to be cheaper than Petrol because it costs half as much to make, these days though Diesel is often more expensive, which is very suss.
