Technically there are different positions where players are supposed to cover a set part of the oval, but for the last 20 years or so virtually the entire team just chases the ball, occasionally leaving 1 or 2 players back for defence.

Rugby is like American Football (Gridiron) except they don't wear body armour and its more violent. Also they don't stop for an add break every 30 seconds. Aussie Rules involves, I kid you not, kicking the ball with your foot. You get 1 point for carrying it or tapping it through the goal and 6 for kicking a goal, the opposite of what is really American Handball.

1993 Grand Final would be my favourite, but the close games are the most exciting for people with no stake in which team wins, and there have been some doozies.

You can get the ball across the oval in 3-5 kicks, its amazing how small that oval can become when played at the highest level.
