  1. Was such an awesome name. It's a crying shame that its now considered to have never existed. Apparently it was one of the many faked reconstructions of the early twentieth century where for the sake of fame and funding. Ironically the actual animal was the Apatosaurus which means deceptive lizard. Be nice if we could swap the two names around.

  2.  @gaz-atolla7519  I don't see how that can happen. Marsh, the palaeontologist who named the creature admitted that he put the skull of a completely different animal on the body of another.

  5. The trouble with Chinese published results is they tend to have a vested interest in pushing back the age of human habitation of China as far as possible. Still, if its properly peer reviewed, no reason to doubt their results.

  8. Strictly speaking, both Anatomically Modern Humans and Neanderthals are subspecies of Heidlebergensis. We can't be separate species if the genetic evidence that AMH and Neanderthals interbred is accurate. Homo heidelbergensis or Homo sapiens heidelbergensis as it should be called is also associated with controlled use of fire and compound tools such as spears and had 90% of our cranial capacity. Massive leap forward from Homo erectus which probably had complex speech although we can't prove it,
