  1. America, like Russia is self-sufficient. Fossil fuels, metals, engineers... It is Europe that is resource poor. Europe must buy oil and gas from Russia or USA or US colonies of Qatar, Saud etc. Resource-poor Europe was strong when they plundered the colonies. Germans didn't have any. So Germans beat up the French/English etc. and they became weak and lost control of the colonies.

  4. Yes, US is going into a recession. It happens to free-market capitalist countries every 10 years or so. In fascist / un-democratic countries like Germany, things are more controlled, so Germany avoids recessions. but never gets rich either.
