  1. Remember, the manufacturer's goal is to get you to buy another phone next year. One major reason people buy a new phone is because their battery isn't lasting long enough anymore. As long as the phone battery lasts about 2 years, nobody's going to complain too much, and people won't keep their phones "too long" and decrease your profits.
