The radical left has been very good I rewriting history. They define the right by the actions of Nazi Germany, ironically a radical left-wing government. At the time the Nazi party was praised by all the leftists as being the ideal state. It's only after the war broke out, that they started to back down from that and only after the end of the war that they tried to reframe the radical left Nazi party as being right wing. Unfortunately now the idea of the Nazis as being right wing is so ingrained in our social consciousness that there's no way to convince people that leftism always leads down that path.
