The problem is that our constitution was written way too recently, and therefore was written by lawyers and politicians rather than founders and visionaries of the country. As a result, our constitution isn't worth the paper it's written on. The constitution starts with a "reasonable" clause that basically says "the government can decide whether any of these restrictions are reasonable". Which completely invalidates the rest of the document. And that doesn't even count the notwithstanding clause witch outright states that even if a government action cannot be justified in their own minds as reasonable, they can still opt out of following the constitution. We might as well not even have a constitution.

Why is there a link between places with common sense, and lousy weather? I just can't survive in the heat down there, but I'd sure like to get out of the politics up here!

The worst crime that anyone associated with the protest has been accused of, was counseling to commit mischief. Not even committing mischief, which in itself is a catch-all designed to be used only when no other crime can be found. That person spent months in jail without bail for allegedly counseling to commit mischief. Let that sink in. Actual murderers in this country are usually out on the street again on bail the same day that they are arrested, but criticizing the government in a peaceful protest where no crime could be found by the police other than counseling to commit mischief, netted months in jail with no bail allowed. Does that really sound like a free society?

Her point was that she's not allowed to argue her point in Canada. Canada is too far gone and her speech is being censored.

The whole story is far worse than she had time to say. She's not partisan, she's very centrist. The mainstream media in Canada however is very partisan, all the main outlets are bought and paid for by the Liberal party of Canada. Millions of taxpayer dollars go to each of our state funded media corporations so that they always tow the party line. Meanwhile independent journalists like Rupa are often barred from government press conferences, and censored on social media. Our current Prime Minister has stated that he admires China's basic dictatorship, and his done his best to emulate it.

@blizzard-watching1955 The Senate is dominated by liberal appointees, they won't go against their master. The head of the RCMP was appointed by the Liberals, and do their bidding. This is life in a dictatorship.
