So the detective told her effectively that it was time to run, and she did. That's what that interview accomplished. She was almost successful too, she just needed to pick a different country!

I didn't hear the rest of the call, but what was said seriously worries me as a paramedic. I sure hope that there was more there. Because based on what we heard, I would have been sent into that scene without the police being notified at all, and the killer could still have been in the house!

You have to wonder, if that detective hadn't fumbled it so badly, would their prime suspect still have managed to flee the country? And as others have mentioned here, it's a good thing she didn't get anything useful, because it could have completely derailed the trial had she done so.
