More to the point, who are all these people with 15-20 ft ceilings, but no floor space? If I installed something like that in my house, I'd have to get around on my hands and knees!

I love the notion that people have ceilings that tall!

That's why they have to advertise them so heavily on here. If they were priced at a level people were willing to pay, you would have heard of them before, and there wouldn't be a bunch of these YouTube videos shilling for them

I love that they use saving money as one of the selling features, can you imagine how much that thing is likely to cost, let alone the install? Meanwhile my fridge isn't going to use any less electricity because I took six drinks out of it!

Assuming these hoses are done the way that they have been for decades, the hose isn't on a reel, it's simply stored inside the tube for the central vac. It is pulled back into the tube by the suction of the vacuum itself, or pulled out of the tube by your use. The mechanism is quite simple.

Why do you think they have to shill them so hard in YouTube ads like this? Because if they were priced reasonably, people would already know about them and be buying them.

You never have to look for where the hose is. When you open the wall plate the hose is always there. If you have multiple wall plates, you have multiple hoses. This isn't a new design, it has been around for literally decades. As for the ceiling storage, you are absolutely correct! Standard ceiling height where I live is 8 ft on main floors and 7.5 ft on other floors, storing something up there is the disaster waiting to happen!

It never did go away. These people didn't bring it back, it's always been there. And they haven't done anything new with the hose in wall thing either, that's been around for decades.

Central vacs are awesome. MUCH more powerful than any portable vacuum, more reliable too, and you have to empty them much less frequently too (all of these benefits because you don't have to compromise and make the unit small or light to tote around). The hose in wall thing is also nothing new and has been around for ages, though that part is less reliable so never really became very popular.

They seem to think people who have no horizontal space, suddenly have lots of vertical space? The standard ceiling where I live is 8 ft on the main floor and 7.5 ft in basements and top floors. I'm over 6 ft tall, I'm not going to be taking 2 ft off my ceiling height to put storage up there!

So you have to have more than a foot above your doorways? While living in a small enough space that you care about this marginal extra storage? Is that actually a thing? I certainly don't have more than a foot over any of my doorways, and I live in a large single family house!

It's not designed for homeowners. This is for big companies with temporary locations comes in a shipping container!

🤣🤣🤣🤣 not the only thing in this video that has been around for many many years!

Which thing in here is new? Most of it is stuff that has been around for decades

I grew up with a central vac, it was the most powerful, and most reliable, vacuum I've ever used in my life. It was absolutely amazing. The only downside is The upfront install cost. After that they are better in every single way. If 've you've experienced issues with them, it is because you forgot that it's still a vacuum cleaner, and you still have to empty the bin on occasion!

The paper furniture isn't meant to be used silly! It's art!
