The problem with this model, is the whole idea of being able to see the tip before providing the service. There has never been, and never will be, a situation where I will tip someone before receiving the service. Tips are reward for good service. I have no way of evaluating the service before I have received it, and therefore no way of setting the value of the tip. My response to that driver, would have been to say that yes, there was going to be a cash tip, however the service that he is provided does not warrant one.
