Embrace, extend, extinguish. By saying that they support right to repair, and then in the fine print doing the opposite, they help redefine the term right to repair. This is classic business practice, by claiming to embrace something, you can work to redefine the word to be whatever you want. In North America we allow corporations to rewrite the dictionary all the time. Pretty soon the term right to repair will mean that you are allowed to go to a factory authorized repair center where they are allowed to replace entire assemblies and charge you as much as the device is worth.
