  1. Most of the time we use a French press, coupled with a real kettle. However when we do use our drip machine, it has an insulated carafe. If you come back later for another cup it can keep that coffee warm pretty much all day. It's actually somewhat genius, and I'm not sure why more of them are built that way! (Our coffee maker does not have a hot plate on the bottom, just the insulated carafe)
