  1. I have 1 left. It's a tri-light in my living room. Unfortunately the vast majority of fixtures I have are not appropriate for CFLs. All my ceiling lights are enclosed, my outdoor lights have to work in winter, my bathroom lights are used for short durations, most table lamps couldn't accommodate the ever so slightly different size/shape. I just found them extremely frustrating all around. So, like everyone else, I used them in "inappropriate" places (because there were no appropriate ones) and like everyone else, I found they had extremely short lifespans.
