  2. Interesting info about low-e windows. I was told when I got mine that the coating was designed to only block IR that came from high angles, and not from low angles, which would solve your winter/summer issue without overhangs. I'll admit though that I've never tested it, and it's quite possible it was all marketing BS rather than actual fact.
