  1. The problem isn't old coal power stations closing down, the problem is that no new coal power stations are getting built because Governments won't subsidize them like they do with so called renewables.

  4.  @dred8616  That's because there are emissions taxes on them and there are tax subsidies on renewables so they would rather lend money for those plus they are concerned about having a woke image to appeal to woke customers.

  5. Why not build new technology low emission coal power stations where the old coal power stations were with all of the transmission still there ready to go, try and answer that one without lying your head off.

  10. Renewables are cheaper if you sudsidize them and you don't count all of the transmission and batteries needed to make them viable.
