  4. We aren't blowing them up, the owners of them are for various reasons.

  5.  @tassied12  Yep and there are no Government subsidies to build new ones unlike solar and wind. Government has to pay for batteries and transmission on top of that to make solar and wind even half viable.

  6.  @tassied12  A private company wanted to build and pay for a new coal fired power station in the Hunter Valley with no need for Government subsidies or batteries, extra transmission or gas powered backup but Federal and State Governments wouldn't allow it.
