  16.  @lukei6255  Unfortunately they could have appealed and would have been compensated. Whoever designed the computer software obviously was at fault and how public servants used it. The original concept was to stop fraud which was out of control. Apparently Robo Debt is still in use but is being updated but is still making errors. It's the same if the tax office unfairly taxes you then it is distressing but you can appeal. The notion that Scomo wanted to deliberately unfairly penalise people is ridiculous. He sought supposedly expert advice on how to crack down on fraud and followed that advice. The enquiry hopefully will uncover what went wrong but they might be just as incompetent or politicaly biased as the others involved.
