  1. Join a credit union then, they don't make a profit, you won't be any better off but at least you won't be jealous of their shareholders.

  2.  @Aussie-Shell  The Reserve Bank raises and lowers interest rates as economic conditions dictate and the big and small banks and credit unions follow suit. Shareholders aren't there to subsidize people, the Government can do that if they want to.
