The Canadian boarder doesn't need it, the country is known as the peacekeeping country, their military is the only in the world to get the nobel peace prize, the country is geographically extremely safe from any threats more than almost any other country in the world. And much of the illegal goods come to canada from the USA to start with not the other way around. The Canadian boarder has been more secure for a long time. Canada is not at war what does it need an increased military for?

Canada literally single handedly stabilized your energy thus economy for the last 25 years while the USA destabilized the middle east, oil production, and messed around with OPEC to no consequence. Canada is the only reason the USA has agriculture with it's massive potash production almost entirely used by the USA, that's not something that can be easily replaced potash is limited. USA needs Canadian oil and at INCREASED volume to accomplish Trumps industrial revolution, it's needs to be powered.
