  1. You'd be hard pressed to prove attempted murder from medicating someone without their consent with medication barely above normal dosage that isn't even prescription or over the counter. That isn't poisonous either. It's not like he was actually poisoning her with eye drops in her coffee. All he'd have to say was he wanted her asleep so he could get some files or belongings because she is crazy and admit what he did was wrong. He'd get like no time if any. Remember nothing even happened as a consequence, otherwise heavy charges could be given.

  2. The intern at Inside Edition clearly doesn't know what poison is. The husband medicated his wife, never poisoned her. The dose makes the poison. He just gave enough to make her sleepy faster than a standard dosage. She probably drank the equivalent of only 3-4 sleeping pills that's why he put so many in.
