  1.  @Mooshimoca  No you don't get it, the car should be designed so it can directly take charge from the outside charger to initiate the battery heater on it's own to start the battery charging process. The battery heater should not be dependent on power from the battery. It's poor design.

  2. Is it the batteries? I thought the story was the charging stations stopped working, the batteries were not the issue. These people rolled up low charge trying to charge their cars then got stuck there because the charging stations stopped working in the cold. Did I misunderstand?

  7.  @acdii  That shouldn't be a problem as they said they have battery heaters, if the sensors see this then when plugged in it should reroute power from the charger directly to the battery heater to condition first for charging. The fact it's not doing this is terrible design.

  8.  @jimmurphy5355  Ah I see. That seems like a very important issue they need to work on for EV's in sub zero areas of the country. I mean even for Canada and most of the EU this is a lot of the West which is primarily where these cars are sold would have this issue. Crazy stuff since -10-20 is pretty normal in many places not all the winter but to have days that dip that low.
