Amazing how even in a documentary such as this they don't present the information in full context. There are 13 habitable zones currently known a planet must be in all at once for life. Liquid water is only one. It's disingenuous to always be labeling the "habitable zone" as only the liquid water zone. To date we have not found one planet that falls in more than two of those thirteen zones. The only planet we know of that is in three or more is earth.

@a__duck I think what it is even more fascinating to consider is how "lucky" we are to exist in this exact position of the cosmos that we have one of if not the best view of the expanse of the cosmos instead of much of it being not viewable. It's as if we were meant to see it's beauty and design on purpose.

@BradThePitts We have the same problem in Vancouver too. Chinese are buying up all the apartments/property. In last ten years prices have basically doubled a 400k apartment is like almost 900k now. New laws need to be developed for this new issue.

@scottg6754 You say that but the odds are actually really small. One astrophysicist tallied the data of known requirements around a decade ago and all the way back then it was already so high he said it was like 1 in a number larger than the number of atoms in the universe lol. So I wouldn't keep my hopes up. Also to give some perspective the universe is actually extremely young. We are pretty much the earliest advanced life can exist in the universe in the first place.

The humidity makes it feel hotter. Get a dehumidifier if you don't have one.

@littlethingsthatmatter Exactly I was wondering that too. It makes no sense.

@cowmoo5596 Not everyone is 800 pound heifer like you that would break the whole railing off of a balcony if they slipped.

I don't think we are insignificant. Literally the whole universe was required so this one planet could exist with habitability for life. In other words by extension our importance "humanity" is beyond that of the universe. That is more or less how one astrophysicist put it and I think that context and perspective is quite enlightening.

Giant ones that are like cruiseships in the sky would be a great idea lots of people would love.

The ironic part is we've known about thorium and had a successful small reactor plant made in Canada since the 80's. Thorium is highly abundant and much safer to the environment and cant be used for weapons and known reserves are large enough for, for all intents and purposes unlimited energy for mankind for the next 1000 years or 10 000 years I forget. Either way we have the fuel, we have the technology. The only downside is the plants cost a lot to make initially.

Maybe in Singapore. But in northern countries we WANT more of that urban heat island effect. We want a more moderate year round temp in city.

Funny how they only air material like this when it's on a completely foreign company from the East.

@naquan59 You had an iguana and killed it by being ignorant enough to leave it outside in the cold... that's on you.

who cares if the capture carbon whats the real logistics. bet these pollute more than the co2 from the start. turning agricultural waste to biochar is far more effective, scalable, easier, cheaper, low tec, usable right now, environmentally safe, improves soil fertility, and can be sold as a product, can be used to reverse desertification and more. but no patent to extort money from so no they really dont care about the environment.

I mean they are staying in the sponsors house, all they(the sponsor) is out is not getting rent. It's not their house. They have a car that they leased or the sponsor leased it's not theirs. They will only be there for months or at the most 1-2 years before they are thrown aside like last weeks trash. They don't make much maybe 50-100k. It is shortlived once again. It's kinda a joke...
