Graphene is free to make now. James Tour has a patented way to create it from any carbon waste, just zap with a lot of power it leaves pure graphene and hydrogen gas that can be sold or power the next reaction. This makes high volume of pure graphene as cheap as cheap can be free. This type of graphene at least with current knowledge isn't for some uses but is good for many others like being incorporated into substances and products for strength and durability and so on.

You'd think now in 2020 we'd have grass that doesn't need to be mowed. Or at the very least maybe a few times a whole season.

whats the rough improvement? Is it only around 15% energy storage or am I way off? they make it out to sound significant...

There isn't a shortage of lithium there is a shortage of production. Elon Musk said himself lithium is one of the most abundant minerals on earth and not an issue. Lithium ion batteries use hardly any lithium they use a lot of nickle which is what they are short on.

Have them on top of every street light lol

This is all click bait absurdity. Seaweed won't ever be the plastic of the future. Bioplastics are a joke.

If it's not good for high volume traffic in some areas, Elon should do launches where the satellites stay into a cluster for a localized area instead of spreading out.

Not at all, James Tour from Rice university already has a extremely easy way to produce it from plastic waste or any carbon based waste. Just zap it with lots of power. Gets barrels of it not cheap but actually for profit because the reaction produces hydrogen for power. The process becomes free. It's pure just not right for every use of graphene but makes it for industrial scale use like in concrete, roads and so on.
