After Satan fell from heaven he tempted Adam & Eve to disobey God & they gave in and since then the human race is under Satan's sway unless they repent and believe in Christ. At that moment they have a new nature and the Holy Spirit enables them to love God and their neighbor. A person can open the door for demons to come in through various ways. Drugs, filling your mind with evil movies, videos, and more. Another way is through anger and hate, which is why Jesus said if you hate your neighbor its the equivalent to murder !

Since Satan is the god of this world he goes about seeking those whom he can deceive and devour. ( destroy) We can open the door to let demons come in through various means. That's why Jesus could cast them out of people who bound and tortured by these evils spirits.
