  20. I think he left the sheath there because the unexpected happened. He didn't count on Eathan being there & Eathan likely heard noise & perhaps he's the one who said "I'm coming to help you". Perhaps BK's oringinal plan was to only kill the two girls upstairs, but then Ethan showed up.. Thats why he then killed Xana & Ethan. By that time he was likely exhausted & ready to leave while he could. Its possible he never saw DM on his way out.
