  2. You do not understand the scriptures! God values life so much that in the O.T. willful, premeditated muder was given the death penalty. If you killed someone accidently you could go to a city of refuge & hopefully no one would kill you. In the N. T. God gives the government the right to use the death penalty IN ORDER TO PROTECT IT'S CITIZENS! That is the first & main responsibility of any government. When God gave the ten commandments & said thou shalt not kill it is because he so values each of our lives. THEREFORE the death penalty is also to be a deterrent to other would be killers. Read the book of Romans & you will see. Too many Christians now a days are mis quoting the thou shalt not kill command. If you kill someone there should be serious consequences.
