  1. The other reason we cannot rely on the power grids for cars is an EMP attack from our enemies which is in their plans. We would all be paralyzed and unable to travel anywhere! Even if one one power grid was knocked out, millions would be stranded, and it could take a year before it is rebuilt as the parts come from overseas. Something to think about!
