  17. I'm a retired nurse. For many years I looked after a fallen police officer in a long term care facility. He was hit over the head with a baseball bat by two young thugs. As a result he became a quadrapegic at age 24 ! He could not speak but could understand everything. He was broken hearted and cried a lot. His fiancee moved on. I became his best friend as I had a knac for communicating with him. Most of his friends moved on as they could not handle his suffering. David needed a suction machine beside him at all times. He had frequent pneumonia's and died of the same at age 46. By the grace of God he became a believer through my witnessing to him. He had a remarkable peace and calm in his heart after that, and endured his suffering like a good soldier. A very humble, sweet, gracious man. One of a kind really. David died very peacefully when God took him home. I went to his small, humble, funeral, where he laid in the casket with his police uniform on and his cap beside his head. I can still cry thinking about it. Such a gentle hero in life, and through his suffering. I look forward to seeing David again one day under much better circumstances ! Revelation 21 : 4 & 5a) And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes ; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Then He who sat on the throne said : Behold, I make all things new !
