. no its not. After getting no where in Canada for Lyme disease, I went to an alternative clinic in Kansas and went into my first rémission very quickly. Many people got cured. Also of cancer

Due to astounding ignorance on the part of doctors and our gov't ! I live in Ontario and was misdiagnosed for four years. The blood test we have is inaccurate & not even used in the US. I was diagnosed right away there and went to a clinic several times. The only lucky ones here are the ones who get an early diagnosis and antibiotic treatment for at least three weeks. The rest will likely be chronically ill for the rest of their lives.

Its epidemic proportion in Ontario, but the stats are false because we do not have an accurate blood test in Canada ! That's why most peoole are being misdiagnosed for years and usually get one in the US, like me. Migratory birds drop the ticks off everywhere so its all over Canada now.

No, only if you catch it right away. Most of us are misdiagnosed as the test is useless and inaccurate. They dont even use it in the US. Once you have it for months or a year its very hard to get over it. The spirochete can sequester in the muscles, brain etc. It's a multi system illness and can affect people in different ways. Debilitating and hard to find a Lyme literate doctor here. I know so many peoole over the years going through this nightmare and its terrible we cannot get the help we need. I got diagnosed in the US four years after getting no where here. Very troubling situation !

This should not be happening ! Are we a third world country now ?! Why does Canada not yet have a proper blood test for L.D. ? The US doesnt even recogize it as legitimate. ( Elisa) They have at least two others that are better ! People here are being misdiagnosed in large numbers ! I know because I have LD and have been part of a support group for many years. After being undiagnosed for four years, I also went to the US and was diagnosed immediately. Plus I had two co-infections which are very common. Why is it that doctors here are still so ignorant about LD and how to treat it ? I cannot find a doctor here willing to give me the antibiotics that were recommended in US ! I also have multi system problems and nerological issues. If I had the money I would be in the US at one of their clinics getting the help I need. LD has been a big problem here for decades and nothing has changed for the patients ! What a diservice for all those suffering from tick borne illnesses ! Why isnt the college providing the knowledge doctors need ?! Its high time to get with it !

Correct. Canada does not even have a reliable blood test yet. The US has two better ones. Go there to get tested. Plus doctors here dont know how to treat it. After four years of being misdiagnosed in Ontario I went to NJ and MD and was diagnosed right away. Unless your treated early you will likely suffer multi system problems forever.

It's rhe same in Ontario ! Most people are misdiagnosed because Canada does not have an accurate blood test, like the US. If you are not treated within the early stages you not likely be cured and will have multi system problems ! I'm one of the victims of the ignorance of physicians in Ontario. After four years of being disabled and misdiagnosed, I went to NJ and MD and was diagnosed immediately. Long story, but I still have chronic problems.

Totally unecessary !

Lyme disease. I contracted it in 1997 near Hamilton. Misdiagnosed for four years here and went to the US where I immediately got a diagnosis. Long story, but still have chronic fatigue and severe limitations. Its almost impossible to find a knowledgeable doctor here, let alone get the proper treatment !

Disgusting practice !

@joejones9520 your dead wrong ! Where do you get that info from ?! The spirochete can sequester in the brain and muscles etc. I know, because I have chronic Lyme disease because I was unable to get diagnosed in Ontario. I saw a top Lyme specialist in Kansas and this is exactly what he told me. Because I was not treated early on to this day I have serious neurological problems as well as chronic fatigue.

Go to the US for a proper diagnosis immediately ! We dont have a reliable test here after all these years ! Doctors still know little to nothing about it, let alone how to treat it ! We are so far behind the US on tick borne illnesses !
