  1. When I was a nurse a few decades ago, CUPE went on strike. I worked in a long term care facility and refused to abandon my patients. I crossed the picket line each day, along with one other nurse who also put the patients first. They were totally helpless and bedridden. Although we were scorned for doing so, I never regretted following my conscience. It was well worth it.
