I'm a retired nurse too with a different view. I worked with seniors for decades, in hospitals, nursing homes, & private home care. Never once did I have a senior tell me they wanted to die even if they were struggling. In some cases life was hard for them but nothing cheered them up like a loving, caring, cheerful nurse! Yes, even in those days a hug was legal! We weren't muzzeled with a mask & could actually see & hear each other & enjoy our smiles:) We didn't see them as a burden or as a problem, or as a waste of money! I saw them as the very people who worked so hard to make our society a better place to live. Who blessed our families with tender loving loving care! Now it's our turn to care for them with dignity & respect until GOD takes them home. Both my parents lived to the ripe old age of 98! They had very healthy & useful senior years. The last few years we assisted them in their condo but they could still use their walkers, enjoy their family & friends etc. They lived for their family & we lived for them ! God's wise design. We never once coveted their savings, but rather wanted them to have the best care possible! They had 12 children, 45 grand children, & 92 great grandchildren ! What a legacy they left behind ! We praise God for the privelege of having them with us so long & miss them dearly. God values all lives equally & what I see trending in our day is very concerning.
