  3. "Imagine the terror...", you say. Well, imagine my bewilderment, at learning that some soldiers would take shots, at these dogs. Why would you shoot at something that your life might one day, depend on? Often, our pets are more logical than ourselves.

  4. In Australia and New Zealand, we wanted to serve. The cultural ties to Britain, were much stronger, then. It was also in our economic interest, to defeat Germany. Nearly everything we exported, was to Britain or other parts of the Empire. Nearly every we imported, was from Britain or the rest of the Empire. An attack on Britain, was an attack on us, as well. We were independent nations with our own, elected governments. So, we were not forced to help the British. We chose to be at their side.

  7. ​ @MrRecrute  30 Wellingtons, don't by themselves, account for 127 pilots. The NZ contribution was staggering, when you consider their population at the time, was just 1.63 million.
