  1. "If they had oil the US would have stepped in right away...". Incorrect. Myanmar has plenty of oil & gas. Myanmar has been an oil exporting nation, since the 1930's, when it was called Burma. Today, most of it's crude oil, is piped directly to China, of course. The rest is refined in Myanmar, itself. The entire Chinese army and air force, is right next door to Myanmar. No expeditionary force, would be strong enough to deal with that kind of opposition. That's why the USA, or any other liberal democracy, has not taken any military action.
