  1. I'm not sure, that Ukraine's tactic is actually going to affect oil prices. They are hitting refineries. I thought that Russia had banned the export of refined oil products, about 2 months ago. So, Ukraine's actions are not going to change the amount of refined oil products, available. Has that ban been lifted?

  3. Hadn't Russia already banned the export of refined oil products? I'm sure they did, a few weeks ago. So, unless the ban has been lifted, I can't see how Ukraine's actions, would push the price up.

  7. Yes. They were invading Iraq. They're not so keen on the idea of invading, nuclear armed countries. Nobody wants to do that. So, the real crime was committed in the 90's, when the US pressured Ukraine, to give up its up its nukes in return for US protection. They broke that promise re protection. Furthermore, no one would have invaded Ukraine, if it still had nukes.

  8. The US, invaded Iraq. Like it or not, justified or unjustified, invasions mean destruction. Conversely, no one (including the US), invades (with a view to conquest) a nuclear armed nation. That is a much riskier undertaking, not only for the belligerents, but for all nations in the region, and possibly the whole world. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the official US stance. I'm just suggesting one factor that may have influenced their thinking.
