  1.  @westoftherockies  It was greed. Nobody forced Russia, to supply the oil for Germany's western conquests. People say Stalin was buying time/security. His actions though, showed the opposite. Instead of building up reserves, he went on a conquering spree - Eastern Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and then he tried Finland. The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact was indeed, convenient. It left Russians free to devour Eastern Europe. They're still trying to do it.
